Dash Heads to Galveston!

What's the best way to celebrate the end of a stomach virus? A trip to the beach!

The only downside to living in Conroe is the fact that we do not have the quick, easy, 30 min trip to Galveston like we did growing up. So we've not been able to expose our Little Man to the beach as much (or as soon) as we would've liked.

So when we realized we had the afternoon completely free on a gorgeous day, we threw a bunch of clothes, toys, and snacks in a bag and headed toward blue (or blue-ish) waters!

Dash LOVED it! He let the dry, white sand run through his fingers; he scooped wet sand into a bucket; he let a seagull feather fly off into the wind; he ran into the water (only to run out pretty quickly when he realized it was a little chilly!); he did it all!

But his most favorite part by far, were the seagulls. He fed them bread, yes, but mainly he just enjoyed chasing them! He'd run and run and run after one that caught his eye, and when I would beckon him back, he'd simply find another targeted seagull and be off again!

It was a great afternoon/evening, and Tyler and I are so thankful for the memories of a spontaneous event!

Dash stopped to play in the parking lot when he saw the first slightest hint of sand.

Running to the open beach ahead

White sand...must run my toes through it and drop my knees into it!

I love this picture because of Dash's little footprints in the sand.

First seagull sighting

Notice the (small) wave coming in...he quickly got up after this shot!

Having a great time!

We chased this feather all over that beach...

The picture that he'll hate later on. He decided to break free when I was getting him ready to head back home.

great pictures maddox family... if you squint a little bit it almost looks like San Diego! what a fun idea... wish we were a bit closer, but certainly worth the special trip.
