Some Crazy Dash Tales

10/09/10 - While at the family reunion, it was 'officially' confirmed that Dash MUST sleep in his own bed (or at least his own room). He had such trouble sleeping with us and was up most of the night, and thus so were we. While he was sweet about it, he kept telling me over and over that he wanted to go "night-night" in "Dash's bed." He's just like his mommy and daddy...

*****

10/12/10 - Dash refused to let me wear slippers this morning. He would fuss and say "Osh" ("Off") every time I put them on. Not sure I understand why, so I settled for a pair of socks instead.

*****

10/12/10 - Dash escaped from a diaper change (which are getting harder and harder for Tyler and I to do), ran into the study, and pee'd on the floor under the desk. All I could do was smile.

*****

Dash has started a new love affair with "bapples." He wants one like every single day (or any time he sees one in the fruit drawer in the fridge), and he wants it whole--no slices, not peeled, just the perfect round apple. Now, I am a total fan of eating fruit, but how do I handle the fact that he spits the peel pieces out all over the house?!? If I catch him, he'll sweetly pick it up and put it in the trash can, but I'm concerned about the pieces I don't catch!

*****

Is my child the only one that makes "beeping" noises when he walks backwards? You know, like the sound a large truck (garbage truck or fire truck) makes when they throw it into reverse? Well, Dash does. As long he outgrows this by the time he is interested in girls, we should be alright.

*****

Every bug, every lizard, every frog, every fly - Dash asks to "Catch him!" or "Touch him!" or hold him in his hand. Our latest game is catching crickets and watching them jump. I no longer get angry when I find a bug in the house (ok, maybe--depeending on what kind of bug it is), cause if it is a harmless one, it becomes the cheapest and easiest form of entertainment for Dash!

*****

I'm sure there are more tales, but these were the few I could remember this morning. Life with an almost two-year-old is NEVER dull!

Okay - my favorite is peeing in the office. Jax ran from me and pee'd in his room one time. He was just as surprised as I was and the look on his face was priceless. He just froze with no idea what he was supposed to do next, which made cleaning it up less gross.
