Fan, Dash. Dash, Fan. Nice to Meet You

one thing about having a baby with you 24/7 is that you begin to see your home in a totally new light. i obviously have no medical background, but from what i have read, a newborn's vision is not like ours; they can see high-contrast items really well so black against white (or vice versa) is so intriguing to them. so along with dash, we've been discovering the mundane items in our day-to-day that dash can see.

well, the other day, dash met the ceiling fan in the living room. i guess he was fascinated by the dark wood of the fan blades against the stark white of the ceiling and he seemed content to stare at it.  and last night, you would have thought that fan was throwing out free candy or money or breast-milk cause dash was staring, and smiling, and kicking his legs for well over 10 minutes!! it was the cutest thing ever..to see your son so happy and full of joy...and over a ceiling fan! i mean, i was excited when tyler installed it and we were able to throw out our builder grade fan/fixture, but not like this!

and of course, as soon as i pulled out the camera, dash turned his head and met the ottoman, which was not nearly as entertaining to him. ottoman - you are a disappointment. fan - welcome to the family.

The fan has a whole new meaning! That is too funny! Ryan and I just tossed out our white builder fan from 10 years ago and upgraded to a darker fan too...mamybe Avery will like the fan-cheap entertainment! Who needs toys??

That is so cool! Next thing you know he will be getting around noticing all your breakables.
