We Heart Uncle Travis

My heart hurts for a dear, dear friend.

Tyler’s partner-in-crime from childhood, Travis, lost his father yesterday morning. And to add to the sadness, it’s just two weeks before Travis’ wedding to an amazingly kind, supportive, and beautiful girl, Leslie.

I think most blog-readers know of Travis, or T-Rav, Uncle Travis, or that crazy/awesome BMX dude. He’s a great friend to Tyler (and me of course). He’s a loving “Uncle” to our boys (even having committed to standing in as a God-father in the event that he needs to. Let’s hope he’s shared that with Leslie! JK!) He’s passionate about life. He’s hilarious. He’s fearless. He knows God holds the key. He’s a good son, a good man, and will be a great husband to Leslie.

And so, we celebrate with him today, knowing that Travis’ father is indeed in heaven free of worldly pain. And while it is sad to see him go, we celebrate who he was and the greatest gift he left the world—Travis.

Pray with me for Travis and Leslie today…tomorrow…and for the next few weeks as they deal with more than an engaged couple should have to; as they complete event details; and as they come together in the midst of loss.
