Dash caught on pretty quick to the whole "trick-or-treat" thing. It took a little practice that morning, and then once he saw the other kiddos do it, he followed suit!
We went all out this year, celebrating the holiday over two days: first on Saturday at a carnival at Jaxson's school; then on Sunday at a family festival at Willis Fire Dept. and then trick-or-treating in the neighborhood with friends. I don't have any pictures of the carnival on Saturday, but by far, Dash's favorite part was the hay-ride. We rode that tractor around the church parking lot about 7 times. C
The pictures below are from the festival at the fire dept. Dash's babysitter/daughter of a really good friend, took Dash under her wings and gave him a tour of the moonwalk!
(And yes, this was all that Dash would allow us to get on him as far as his costume is concerned. He had no interest in the boots or eye patch that day!)

We got home just in time to join some friends for some good ol' fashioned trick or treating. I guess I am a little out of the loop here, but apparently, some people set up tables and chairs in their front lawn to hand out goodies!

This is (part of) the Perkins Xing clan...so stinkin cute!!

Dash waiting patiently for his turn to get candy. And yes, they kicked off the evening with candy from our house!
I guess I should mention that we did learn an important lesson that pm...give Dash a small bag of M&M's and a tootsie roll, and well, you'll have one heck of a toddler sugar high. After the candy kicked in, Dash took off full-speed running down the street and didn't stop for about 20 minutes! It was hilarious---all we could do was run to keep up and try to steer him out of harm's way!

Then, he was back to being my little baby.
