When we left the concert at about 9 p.m., I assumed we'd have a sleeping boy by the time we got home...by the time we got out of the parking lot, really! A quick glance to the back seat showed me that we had a zombie-like sleep daze, but not actual sleep.
So, true to tactics taught to me by my mom (and sometimes still needed/wanted to help me rest), I started gently tickling Dash's arm and hand. He remained still, so I kept it up as long as my neck would allow (while I have long arms, tickling from the front seat is hard!).
About the time my neck grew weary, I stopped and went back to facing forward. Then I heard, "Mama, Mama." I turned around to see Dash holding out the same arm I was just tickling. He wanted to be tickled more.
And for a baby boy that sweet, tickling is just what I did.
P.S. For those who are curious, Cold Shot is a variety cover band starring our bro-in-law as the guitarist/back-up vocals. They've played recently at the Concert-in-the-Park series at Northshore Park, last night at The Waterway, and in two weeks, they'll be at Baker's Street Pub. They make for fun and enjoyable night, so go see them if you can!!
