He's pretty much picked up everything we've thrown at him...except the word/baby sign "please." He knows how to make the sign (using your palm, make a circle on your chest), but every time we ask him to say "please," he stiffens up, gets a frustrated look in his eye, and sternly replies/growls, "ahhhh."
This is just unusual behavior for Dash, as he's normally very easy going and receptive to knew words. After a week or so of this, I just chalked it up to the fact that we're starting the terrible two's before 15 months.
Then, the other day Dash saw Tyler's set of car keys hanging up on the wall in the kitchen. Just as clear as day, Dash made the baby sign for "Please." Yes, that's right, Dash has been confused this entire time, thinking that "Please" meant "Keys."
No wonder he would get so frustrated---every time he asked for something (milk, a toy, more), he thought we were telling him to go get "Keys" instead. Poor guy. Although we're working to explain to him "keys" versus "please," I'm sure this will most definitely not be the last miscommunication between Dash and his parents.

What a perfect story... lesson learned for the Phillips - atleast he didn't confuse it with 'dirty diaper' or something messier!
