Step One

In a post dated Sept. 3, I made a wager that Dash would be walking in two weeks. Ten days later, on Sept. 13 (Grandparent's Day), Dash took his first steps!

We were up at the fire station visiting Tyler (who was working an over-time shift). Standing there on his own, Dash decided he wanted Tyler...so he took one step, then two more, and the collapsed in Daddy's arms! Both Tyler and I gasped simultaneously - we were both stunned and excited!

We stood Dash back up again and called him once more - just to see whether or not it was a fluke, lol - and he took two or three steps, once again to Daddy! (However this time, it was to grab Daddy's glasses, which apparently were the motivation!)

He was pretty much spent after that, and I'm sure he was very curious why Mommy and Daddy were cheering and rubbing his back and making a big deal of it!

Hopefully, we'll have pictures or video to come soon! But we just had to share the excitement.

(And yes, we know that some of you are secretly smiling, remembering the all-too-innocent-parent-stage, where you hope and hope your baby will become mobile, only to realize that their mobility equates to your mobility and that sitting down for just 5 minutes never seemed so wonderful!)

I am so jealous - THREE STEPS! Those must be some pretty awesome glasses - think we could borrow them?
