Wellness Visit Ain't No Match For D

After two dentist appointments for Lauren, one dentist appointment for Tyler, and a well-baby check-up for Dash, the Maddox's have had their share of waiting rooms and insurance co-pays.

Starting from youngest to oldest, Dash is doing very good! His only little probs include massive amounts of spit-up. Nothing is sacred in our house anymore,as it all has been covered with spit-up. Tyler changed shirts three times the other day! But we checked with the doc at this appt., and since it seems to be causing no probs with the little man (think of that baby in the e*trade commercial - cool), we just wait this period out.

His growth is right on target...50 to 75 % for his weight and 75 to 90% for his height. And like our friend Kammy mentioned on her blog, "the percentages mean absolutely nothing, but it is reassuring to know he's growing at a steady rate!"

And, yes in case you were wondering, Dash did receive shots - 3 to be exact, plus he had to drink some magic potion that keeps him protected from the Rota virus. And he handled it like a champ! Tyler held him down, the nurse was very quick, and mom stayed back trying to avoid the sight of the needles and her hurting son. Crying lasted a lot less than anyone could have thought...in fact the coffee grinder seems to cause longer crying fits that the shots did!

As for us parents, we're doing well in-spite of the dentist appointments. I (L) officially quit working full time in order to be a wife and a mama. It has been such a blessing to be at home each day and pour into Dash, and I thank God that I am able to do so at this point in time. Tyler has been back on his regular work schedule for awhile now, so that is nothing new. When not handling the baby, he enjoys playing with his new love, Nintendo.

Glad to hear Dash is growing well... I hear that spitting up is just Dash's way of saying he loves you so much he'll share his food with you (the only way he knows how).

I've really gotten into tea recently - finally caved to all the expat pressure here in Doha. Best advantage to tea is that you can get the same morning pick me up without the coffee grinder tears.

Glad to hear Mr. T is expanding his video game interests beyond Halo - hopefully he has already procured TMNT1 and G.I.Joe (a MUST have).
