Was that a dream?

The words were already flowing in my mind for this blog as I lay in bed this morning at 6:34 a.m. It had been over five hours since we put Little D to bed (we stayed out late rockin with Rock Band), but better still, it had been almost ten hours since Little D had eaten last.

Was I concerned? Partly.  Was I thrilled? Majorly.

The big deal: Dash slept through the entire night!!!  (In fact, he slept until 7:30 a.m.!) He weaned his little 10-week old body off of a middle of the night feeding, which equates to longer sleep for mom, which equates to happier life for Dad!!!

Of course, we are only one night into this...so things could still change slightly before we have an official night routine, but now we know that his little body is capable of such a feat! I could not be more thrilled!

So how did we get to this point?

Only three nights ago, after a combination of exhaustion on mama's part (hearing every tiny little baby noise finally drove me to tearful exhaustion a few days back) and a desire to have our bedroom no longer resemble a nursery, we made the executive decision to let Dash sleep in his own bedroom. (Yes, we'd tried this two other times before but something about seeing a peaceful, cute, wittle baby just made us greedy for cuddle time.)

But this time, we stuck with it.

Test Monitor Run - Check.
Cleared path from Mama's side of bed to Dash room's - Check.
One last goodnight kiss - Check. and Check.

So, now after only three nights in his own room, he graduated from little, little baby, big, little baby.

Was it the bed? Perhaps.
Was it the substantial dinner Mama ate? Possibly.
Was it the one last good night kiss from Mama and Daddy? Precisely.

Kammy - I know! seriously - after you mentioned it being any night now that Dash would do that!! I could not believe it myself either. Still on pins and needles wondering if tonight he'll regress, but either way, I had seven hours of solid sleep! :)
