Happy 2009 Everyone!
We look forward to this year, sharing a fresh beginning with our family and friends. In 2009, a lot of great things will happen - couples will become families, babies will become toddlers, and parents will become more and more sleep deprived! (j/k, but not really).
In case you were wondering (I know you all have been on the edge of your seat wondering about Dash's first Christmas...), our Christmas and New Year's was delightful! Dash got his picture taken with his homeboy, Mr. Santa Claus himself, attended his first ever Christmas Eve service (where he received tons of smiles), and even enjoyed a round of opening presents until he decided he was too hungry to continue.
This year, Christmas was all about the family. Dash napped with his Great Grandma Bedford and smiled at his Great Grandpa Berry. He snuggled with his Kiki (T's mom) and was quite the charmer with Gigi and Paw-Paw (L's parents). He even enjoyed a little ski-ball at Mr. Gatti's with Papa Joe and Grandma Debbie (T's dad).
And where was the little one when the clock struck midnight on January 1st? Asleep in the car! After hanging out with some friends, this new family left before the ball dropped to get home before the whackos got on the rode. We were never party people before babies, but having babies totally shut late night outings down for awhile! (I think it took me about two days to recover from staying up until midnight!)
So far all is well for us. Each day Dash is getting bigger. He is becoming more and more alert, taking in all the sights and sounds around him. He is starting to "talk" more and is gaining more and more interest in all the toys he has. He loves his swing, which is in a perfect position to see his best pals - the fan and the picture (a high-contrast swirl image we have hanging in the living room). We just bought him a mobile (recommended by our neighbor) that he really likes too.
Right now, he is still sleeping in our room in a little bassinet by the bed. But, he'll be making the transition to his "big crib" in the next week or so. (I think that transition has less to do with him being ready and more to do with me being ready...ready to walk across the house to feed him every night and yes, sadly, ready to part with my wee little one!)
Be sure and check out the new pictures and the video that Tyler put together - awesome, ain't it?!?

Just have to tell you - you write so beautifully. Journalism was definitely the perfect way to go for you. Even your titles rock! You make my blog look so sad :)
Oh - and you have to teach me how to get the videos on the page. Apparently its harder than it looks.
Dash is adorable! See you next time both babies are happy at the same time and we can take another walk.
